Is it just us, or does it feel like forever since we last saw Daniel Craig as the mild mannered (to the ladies), kick ass (to the baddies) British Spy James Bond? In fact, it feels that long (Director’s pay attention) that we will have dust off the last installment and watch it again to catch up on the storyline…! Storyline! What the hell are we talking about?
In this installment we see our active Spy wrestle the baddies and fight his way through villainous plans to save the day, save the damsel in distress and finally…again…save the world from absolutely total destruction. Sounds cool to us, but will it work on the big screen?
Some have reviewed this film already, and to be honest, we are unhappy that our invitation to view the pre-premiere viewing was lost in the post. That’s right, we were told by some woman (probably the cleaning lady) that there is a possibility that our “Pre-Review” copy may have accidentally been lost in the post. Typical.
Anyway, Skyfall, what can we expect from this film? Well, let’s see:
SKYFALL (OFFICIAL TRAILER) 2012
The Storyline: Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Back To The Future 4…Is it really going to the Silver Screen? Is Michael J Fox really going to be starring as Marty McFly in this next installment? Is it REAL?
When we heard that the producers were getting around the table to talk about a forth installment of one of the greatest franchises in cinema history, we couldn’t resist putting our best “Go-Bots” to good use in bringing back something…anything, that would give a hint at another “Back To The Future” movie. And, this is what they found.
Back To The Future 4 (Trailer)
Obviously, if it is a case of another sequel, then we will pick it up as soon as it is announced “Official” but for now we are going to make do with the only viable trailer on the internet. Enjoy.

On What’s New this week is the two new lists that we have posted, one for DVD and another for Blu-Ray, from our Archives of what we have seen over the past couple of weeks. A lot there to choose from and get the info from details, reviews, and of course, from the trailers that are linked to the titles too.
After wrestling a few new ideas around our heads within the “Think-Tank”, we have come up with some thoughts that some people may find valuable, if not very worthy of gracing our pages here on The DVD Archive. First off is the “DVD Archive Chart”; a weekly or monthly Chart that would be specially compiled by us for this BlogSite.
New Category…
A new Category is waiting in the ranks to be added onto the DVD Archive 2012, one which will merge both the Film world with the Writing world of Author’s who have had the very lucky pleasure of having their Novel’s transformed into Silver Screen Popularity. Whether or not this new Category will be added immediately depends on the new format taking place with the change of the BlogSite as we know it.
Quicker Film Reviews…
You asked for more film reviews to be put onto the Main Pages of The DVD Archive, and we listened. As from the next “Review”, we will be placing “Film Reviews” directly as posts before settling them into “Pages” on the BlogSite. This we feel would be better than placing multiple links to the “Pages” where they will be sat.
Fresh News…
As well as giving you the best of what’s happening around the world regarding Films, DVD’s, Blu-Rays and other Audio/Visual delights that entertain us on a daily basis, we will be linking “The Networks” various BlogSites to The DVD Archive, with up to date Tech News, Courtroom Reports, Gadgets and Games, to name but a few of the main topic releases. From GWN.2012 (Global World News) to The N.G.C (Network Games Corner), you will be kept up to date with many of the most happening news updates that you should not miss.
And Finally…
To celebrate 200 years of Cinema, The DVD Archive is launching a special “Actor’s & Actresses” expose, which some may find interesting, while others will no doubt stand (or sit) with their mouths agape. This is a temporary induction to The DVD Archive, and one which may well be withdrawn by the Director of “The Network”, either through his own choice or through the calls of the Powers that Be.
Till the next time, enjoy The DVD Archive, and keep on watching.

OK, some people (Those of my fellow Reviewers) will probably think I’m a sponge pudding for even mentioning this late on after its release on the I.D.M.R, but what the heck? We got a hold of this film some two to three months ago, and it stood in our pile of DVD’s [as so many do - including Snow White & The Huntsman] awaiting our undivided attention. But it has to be said in our defence that there is a hell of a lot going on these days where time is not only against us, but, it has become so scarce, too.
Anyway, back to “Darkest Hour”, and forget previous films with the aliens falling down to Earth and putting the heeby-jeebies up you; War of the Worlds, Independance Day, Cloverfield and the likes. With “Darkest Hour”, we have the setting of something that is as realistic as the original “War of the Worlds”, and then some.
Look at the trailer here and consider something very special – What is more terrifying than to have an alien enimy that you cannot see? An enemy that is both invisible and cannot be destroyed as easily as sneezing on it and giving it the cold, or squishing it like a bug in a large Mothership connective way.
Darkest Hour 2011 (Official Trailer)
The film’s title gave us the impression that it was to be about war, or some apocalyptic spew that the low budget studios are spitting out at the moment. Though when we put it on, it was the visual effects of the “Tinkerbell Fairy” like orbs falling from the sky that had us all enthralled. From this moment on we just watched, twitched and jumped between the shouting at the aliens to leave those poor defenceless humans alone.
If you have the chance, rent it out, go to the cinema and watch with pleasure, or just get yourself a copy that you can appreciate to the fullest. Our official “Review” of this film is on its way, but for now, take ow.ur word for it 8.5 out of 10 is a really good score, especially as our “Rating System” has changed along with other “Review” sites. More news on this change later, but for now, on with the show
New Film List will be posted today with the latest films watched over the past couple of months. Some have been “Reviewed” already, as many haven’t yet, but we are working through them slowly.

As reported a little while ago, Marcus De Storm, Director of “The [MKDS] Network 2012, released four of five eBooks onto the Internetwork – before the 1st June 2012 deadline, we may add – where they have received some very good Global “Feedback”. And, as a reward to those that have been asking if the eBooks are going to Print any time soon, Marcus has released his first book of many on Amazon (Global).
“I have been receiving emails from people in both the USA and Europe asking me if I have any plans on releasing the eBooks into Printed Paperback? Of course, my initial intentions were to keep the four books on Kindle eBook, while completing another four to five volumes of ‘On A Storyteller’s Night’, and then release ‘The Brotherhood Of The Realms’ as an exclusive. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out that way at all.”
With more than 2,140,000 hits to his name on the Search Engine, more than 500 Article Based Reports, 48+ BlogSite’s, 2,000+ Poems, 4 Novels and more than 170 Story-Short Novel’s to his name, not to mention his Awards picked up along the way as “Poet Elite” and “Poet Laureate”, Marcus De Storm sets to make a huge impact on the world like nobody would believe – and that’s a hell of a lot of unbelievers. But, when asked what he expected from the release of both ‘eBook and Paperback’, his simple answer was:
“I’m doing this for the passion of Writing, not for money or glory as many people would believe. From the very beginning I have always maintained that my Writing’s are for the world to read, nothing more, and if there just happens to be money generated from the sales of that written material, then so be it.”
The Brotherhood Of The Realms – Available SOON in Paperback on Amazon – Details to follow.

The DVD Archive Review: Well, it doesn’t look good, unfortunately. What had been built up to be a great evenings viewing of top Soap stars and Film actor’s just seemed to turn to…well, to dust. In our honest opinion this film should have been a blistering kick-ass, high adrenalized infusion of comedy horror like no other previously produced in the UK. Instead, the film was delayed…and delayed again and again, until it finally ran out of steam twenty minutes into the very weak and diluted storyline.
As far as the “Storyline” from the Internet Movie Data Base goes with describing this films Main Plot, I doubt the writer actually looked at the finished work they had done afterwards and just posted it anyway, or that they didn’t sit through enough of the film to realize that Jack Ferriss wasn’t actually the one who gets killed! It was Micky (Played by that old Spandau Ballet bad boy himself, Martin Kemp) who copped the kiss of death, or should we say the dot of the “I” by Justice (Played by Adele Silva) who, for some strange reason has been given her Equity Card for acting back. Other than this the storyline is correct, Micky is killed and the rest of his Werewolf pack seeks revenge on the one who killed him.
In a deliberate branch-off of the storyline, we see Justice meeting with her fiancé, Scott (Martin Compston), who is a Werewolf. Unbeknown to Scott, is the fact that it was his girlfriend – a nightclub Stripper – that killed one of his own, and this has started a chain of events which would have Joss Whedon spitting obscenities at the cast and crew of this poorly made Brit-Flick.
We feel that an attempt has been made to reintroduce that essence of “Sean of the Dead” allure, capped off with the American “Werewolf in London” theme where the whole mish-mash backgrounds scenes catch the imagination of the viewer, too. But, alas, it is this combination of various efforts that just add to the confusion of the films collaboration of once great British actor’s; Billy Murray, who found fame in “The Bill”, and later “Eastenders”. Martin Kemp, from one of Britain’s biggest eighties New Romantic Bands, “Spandau Ballet”, who was later taken onto the casting list of “Eastenders”. Adele Silva, who is previously from “Emmerdale Farm”, another British Soap favourite, and Ali Bastian, of “Hollyoaks” fame, who we feel has been thrown in for extra allure support.
The introduction of Robert Englund, however, has to be one of the lamest of all attempts to get this film off of the ground…which may have done so, if there was a bigger part for the retired “Freddy Kruger” madman star. One would even start to believe that it may be Robert Englund who had a lot to do with this film, as it did have a ring of “1000 Maniac’s” tone within the script, but whatever and whoever was responsible, the fact remains the same – Britain’s horror market has become a laughing stock because of this development (and we’re not talking about the comedy from the script).
The Trailer
It saddens me to admit it, let alone say it, that if you were to watch the trailer to this film you will get two crucial elements from it. The first is, and goes without saying the entire film is summed up in the 1 minute 39 seconds of play; the beginning, the middle and the end. That’s including all the best bits, too. The second is the illusion that this film is absolutely excellent and is a sure thing not to miss out on seeing. But, the fact is, it is not the sure thing – far from it.
So many directors in the past, as so many in the present, too, appear to focus on the “Trailer” to reel the prospective viewer in. The sad fact is, it rarely fails to deliver the illusion. This does not include all films, though there are some new productions where the “Action” and “Plot” is fore fronted to the trailer and so, you may as well watch the one minute to three minute teaser than waste your time with such a ‘Dead duck in water’.
Actor Focus
Everyone loves a great actor, such great actors as Billy Murray, Martin Kemp and Martin Compston, who is famous for his main casting in “50 Dead Men Walking”, which was very successful given the topic it covered. As for the other male actors, such large parts are definitely not for the likes of Billy Murray or Martin Kemp. A “Together” script which focuses on a “Soap-Like” production would be more appropriate, because let’s face it, when Luke Goss left Bros (It was an 80’s pop band), it took him more than six years to establish himself in good to great films. Today, Luke Goss has the vote of many viewers who have given up the ‘Type-casting’ curse of ones achievements and brought a new type of association – Experience Success. Unfortunately, the soap stars who may have been Class A Actors back on the studio sets of Eastenders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Coronation Street, have a long trek ahead of them to reach such a status as Luke Goss.
Even with the short cameo appearances of both Robert Englund of Nightmare On Elm Street Saga and True-Brit-Grit actor Alan Ford from “Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels” infamy, the film fails in every turn to bring the dark and dingy feel of a B-Movie rise to anything but a bad Directed and bad acted film which will most probably join the ranks of “Asylum Studios” classification.
DVD Archive Rating: 6/10 (7/10 if Craig Fairbrass would have been in the cast)
